SLIPKNOT Guitarist Discusses Missing Member

September 29, 2004

SLIPKNOT guitarist James Root, a.k.a. #4, has spoken to Launch Radio Networks about touring Europe without programmer Craig Jones #133, also known as #5, who was forced to leave the trek over the weekend and head home for emergency dental surgery. Asked to explain what afflicted Jones, Root said, "I honestly don't know. He was miserable and he saw a doctor and they said that he was gonna need surgery, and what I'm hoping happens is he gets back to the States and, you know, gets a second opinion and they find out that it's not as horrible as, you know, what they think it could be or whatever, you know, and it'll be a lot easier for him. And then he can get back here, you know. But, you know, I also want him to recuperate."

Root said that even though the rest of the band misses Jones, the show must go on. "We're filling his spot, we've got a picture of him in the dressing room and we miss him every day, and we couldn't cancel the tour, you know," James said. "We'd already been over here, he had already been over here, and he was just miserable, man. He looked miserable, he was in a lot of pain."

Band DJ Sid Wilson will handle the majority of Jones' parts until he returns.
